Description
Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Department: Shipping & Receiving
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations
Supervises: Yes
Work Location: Warehouse in Raleigh, NC
We are looking for an individual to fill the role of Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for team members who are looking to take the next step in their career within our organization. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with our quality standards.
Job Summary: As the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, you will oversee the general shipping & warehouse activities. Manage and monitor incoming and outgoing items and resolve any issues with shipping orders. Your main duty will be to ensure secure, accurate, timely, and productive shipping processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Complete packaging, receiving, and shipping tasks as needed.
  • Escalate issues to managers and recommend potential solutions.
  • Ensure the team follows company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously evaluate shipping and receiving processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Use shipping software to organize and prioritize shipping activities.
  • Supervise and oversee shipping & receiving team members.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (such as warehouse workers, vendors, purchasing managers, suppliers, etc.)
  • Provide assistance to other departments as required.

Supervision:
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of shipping and receiving associates.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Address employee concerns and foster a positive work environment.

Requirements
Physical demands:
Walk, sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Lift, push and/or pull up to 30 pounds.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills.
Schedule: The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.
