JOB TITLE: SHIPPING/RECEIVING SUPERVISOR


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Provide leadership, direction, and coordination of all shipping, receiving, and logistics activities to ensure accurate inventory movement, timely deliveries, and compliance with quality and safety standards, with an emphasis on internal and external customer service and efficient departmental operations.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Essential

  • Provide direction and leadership for shipping and receiving personnel, including coaching and supporting team members and providing performance feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for onboarding and training new hires to ensure a smooth transition and understanding of job responsibilities
  • Administers progressive corrective action, as needed, in partnership with HR and in accordance with company policy
  • Assess training needs and coordinate development plans.
  • Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and delivery activities.
  • Ensure accuracy of all outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy of inbound receipts, including inspection, verification, and system transactions.
  • Coordinate daily pickups, deliveries, and carrier schedules.
  • Monitor workflow to meet production and customer deadlines.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and material flow.
  • Ensure timely issuance of materials to work orders.
  • Oversee Kanban stocking and replenishment activities.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of packaging and shipping supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintain responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the Quality Manual and procedures.
  • Ensure proper inspection of incoming and outgoing product.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions related to shipping, receiving and delivery issues/errors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards. Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts, reach trucks, and company vehicles.
  • Ensure equipment inspections and vehicle checklists are completed daily.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Analyze shipping, freight, and logistics data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate actively in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

Non-Essential

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Essential

  • Minimum five years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics.
  • Minimum one year supervisory or lead experience.
  • MRP / ERP system experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to analyze data and implement improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of freight systems and carrier requirements.
  • Good knowledge of proper packaging and handling methods.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

Working Environment: Shop and warehouse environment. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat, and cold.


This position will require drug testing per company policy.
