Are you a detail-oriented warehouse professional with hands-on forklift experience and a solid background handling LTL freight, ERP systems, and logistics documentation? American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier manufacturer and distributor of traffic safety products, highway signs, and infrastructure materials in Pierce County, WA to hire a full-time Shipping & Receiving Clerk (LTL Shipper). In this high-responsibility role, you will prepare and package custom industrial orders, coordinate LTL and flatbed freight logistics, manage incoming supply shipments, and serve as a crucial backup to the Shipping Lead. If you bring strong computer literacy, forklift expertise, and a zero-defect quality mindset to every shift, we want you on the warehouse floor!


Description for Shipping & Receiving Clerk:


  • Prepare, package, band, and stage LTL freight, flatbed cargo, pipes, anchors, traffic signage, and custom orders for nationwide and international distribution across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Generate packing slips, process shipping documentation, and schedule LTL carrier pickups using internal computer logistics systems and ERP software.
  • Safely operate forklifts to load and unload LTL trailers, flatbed trucks, and incoming freight deliveries efficiently.
  • Conduct meticulous quality control inspections on all outgoing shipments to verify piece counts, specs, and packaging integrity prior to dispatch.
  • Receive and verify incoming deliveries of raw manufacturing materials, sign for freight, and maintain structured digital receiving logs.
  • Execute quarterly inventory counts, assist will-call customers professionally, keep shipping bays secure and orderly, and serve as backup leadership for the Shipping Lead as needed.

  • Pay Rate:$19.00 โ€“ $20.50 / hour (Scaling cleanly based on Depth of Experience / DOE).
