Job description

Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving & unloading incoming materials, preparing for shipment & loading finished goods, and comparing quantities shown on packing slip to items received/shipped and the purchase order. Also, this position inspects items according to instructions, reports damaged goods. Other responsibilities include entering receipts/shipments into computer inventory records, daily cycle counts of inventory and well as full physical inventory quarterly. Organization of warehouse by inventory location and material type - reconciles computer records. Responsible for min/max ordering for non-inventory items. Maintains inventory in a neat and orderly fashion.

We are located at 35 Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, IL 60070

- This position is 1st Shift

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and unloading of incoming shipments
  • Loading shipments & preparing shipping documentation
  • Verify accurateness of receipt/shipping information (by weight), 3 samples per shipment & recorded on Packing Slips.
  • Inspect received/shipped goods per incoming inspection requirements or as assigned by QA Manager) damage and report accordingly
  • Entering receiving/shipping information in system, labels & stores after inspection is completed
  • Daily cycle counts of assigned materials; follow FIFO rules & best practices.
  • Remove and transfer to QA Quarantine/DMR 'expired' materials, or close to expiring materials.
  • Lead role in quarterly full inventory counts
  • Organizes materials according to bin locations
  • Responsible for min/max ordering for non-inventory items
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management (ie. material handling).

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Receiving operations, including loading and unloading of trucks, staging and pulling pallets from staging area.
  • Computer experience, required.
  • Ability to understand ERP system
  • Current or previous forklift certification, required.
  • Quality inspection of incoming stock
  • Familiar with FIFO rules & best practices
  • Picking orders off of a pick ticket
  • Inventory counting
  • Math and conversion skills needed
