Job Description
Are you an experienced Shipping & Receiving leader looking for your next long-term opportunity? We are seeking a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and material flow operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence. You'll work closely with production, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure materials and finished products move safely, accurately, and on time while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop Shipping & Receiving personnel through coaching, training, accountability, and performance management.
  • Oversee daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, staging, and inventory operations.
  • Coordinate labor priorities and workflow to maximize efficiency and customer service.
  • Ensure accurate shipping documentation, packaging, labeling, and customer compliance.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, ERP transactions, and warehouse organization.
  • Support production by ensuring timely material availability and shipment execution.
  • Coordinate freight carriers, transportation schedules, and dock activity.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring OSHA compliance and safe material handling practices.
  • Conduct safety inspections, equipment checks, and housekeeping audits.
  • Investigate shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and operational issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
  • Track departmental KPIs including inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, labor efficiency, shipping quality, and safety performance.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, customer service, and leadership to support operational goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse, Logistics, or Manufacturing operations.
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, ERP/MRP systems, and shipping processes.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating freight carriers and transportation logistics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education or training in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or Manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or 5S experience.
  • Forklift certification and warehouse equipment experience.
