Job description

Position Summary 

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for the efficient handling, processing, and tracking of all incoming and outgoing goods. This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely deliveries, and a safe, organized warehouse environment. The position works closely with internal teams and external carriers to support operational and customer service goals.

 

Key Responsibilities 

Shipping & Order Fulfillment 

  • Package, process, and ship all outbound orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Pull, pack, and verify orders, cross-checking items for accuracy prior to shipment
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers including UPS, FedEx, LTL providers, and couriers
  • Arrange inbound and outbound shipments as required
  • Maintain adequate levels of packaging materials and shipping supplies

Receiving & Inventory Management 

  • Receive and process incoming materials, verifying accuracy against packing slips
  • Enter and post all receipts into the ERP system (IFS, Cedarbay), generating required reports
  • Place received inventory into appropriate stock locations
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Process returned goods and ensure proper disposition
  • Support inventory procedures and continuous improvement of processes

Systems & Administrative Duties 

  • Utilize IFS, CedarBay and Pacejet systems for shipping, receiving, allocation, and inventory transactions
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all shipping and receiving activities
  • Use Microsoft Office applications for reporting, tracking, and communication

Warehouse Operations 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including sweeping, mopping, and general housekeeping
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies
  • Assist with supply ordering as needed
  • Support understanding of company structure, products, and operational workflows
 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain automated manifest systems
  • Working knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse best practices
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (IFS preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand parts and equipment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under company policy required
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • OSHA certification preferred
 

Physical & Work Requirements 

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required. (~50lbs. )
