Job description

Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) is an aerospace company specializing in long-endurance unmanned aerial platforms for a wide variety of industries. KHA supports a number of customers to carry out missions involving aerial reconnaissance, survey, communication relay and communications provisioning. Endurance, enabled by effective design, is key to these applications and KHA aircraft utilize cutting-edge aircraft design together with on-board intelligence to deliver value for these customers.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role will own the day-to-day processes for receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling in support of our growing aerospace manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will excel in adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), have a keen eye for detail, and possess strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and efficient material flow.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving Operations:

  • Own the intake process for incoming materials, parts, equipment, and supplies.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, quantities, part numbers, and supporting documentation.
  • Inspect shipments for visible damage, shortages, incorrect items, and other discrepancies.
  • Accurately record material receipts and associated information in the company ERP and inventory management system.
  • Label, route, store, or segregate received materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicate discrepancies promptly and coordinate resolution with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, or suppliers as appropriate.
  • Support return-to-vendor and nonconforming-material activities when required.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, material locations, quantities, and transaction history using inventory management software.
  • Establish and conduct regular cycle counts and support full physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Organize and manage stockroom and warehouse storage to maximize efficiency, accessibility, and material protection.
  • Issue, transfer, and track materials supporting production, engineering, testing, and operational activities.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, discrepancies, or inventory risks requiring attention.
  • Maintain accurate traceability, labeling, and documentation for materials and parts.
  • Ensure materials can be located and provided quickly to support production needs.

Shipping & Logistics Coordination:

  • Prepare, package, label, and document outbound shipments of parts, materials, equipment, and assemblies.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups, deliveries, and shipment tracking.
  • Verify shipping documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure outbound items are appropriately protected and prepared for transport.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and logistics records.
  • Support the movement of materials between KHA facilities, suppliers, customers, and operational sites.
  • Follow up on shipments and resolve routine delivery or transportation issues promptly.

Operational Support:

  • Follow and enforce applicable SOPs, inventory controls, and material-handling procedures.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized shipping, receiving, stockroom, and warehouse areas.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support timely material availability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, storage practices, inventory accuracy, and logistics efficiency.
  • Support other related shipping, receiving, inventory, and material-control activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or inventory management are a plus.
  • Proven experience in logistics, material handling, or inventory management roles.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to follow and enforce SOPs consistently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 55 lbs and operate warehouse equipment as needed.

Plus:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, robotics, automotive, medical device, or another technical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience packaging and shipping technical, fragile, or high-value equipment.
  • Forklift or material-handling equipment certification.
  • Experience supporting receiving inspection, material traceability, or nonconforming-material processes.
  • Veteran.
