Job description

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving / Laborer

Reports To: Production Supervisor / VP of Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving / Laborer is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and production operations through the safe handling, movement, and documentation of materials and finished goods. This role ensures accurate receiving, timely shipping, and an organized dock area while coordinating closely with production, customer service, and freight carriers.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Shift: Morning shift, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Overtime: Approximately 2.5 hours per week
  • Pay Range: $21.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight from carriers and shipping containers.
  • Assist, as needed, with offloading containers containing sacks weighing up to 55 lbs. and placing materials onto pallets.
  • Pull packages from inventory and prepare orders for shipment as required.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers, including UPS, to schedule outbound shipments.
  • Receive incoming products, verify against purchase orders, and enter receiving data into the computer system.
  • Communicate and coordinate shipment details with the customer service team to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Prepare and print packing lists, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation; accurately enter shipment details into the Shipping Log.
  • Maintain the shipping and receiving dock areas (both interior and exterior) in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification preferred).
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 55 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and shipping documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and external carriers.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
