Job description

Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and other records.

  • Prepare shipping documents (packing slips, bills of lading, orders).

  • Record shipment data (weight, charges, space availability, damages, discrepancies).

  • Capture and upload shipment photos in job folders.

  • Manage Min/Max levels for safety stock and other inventory locations.

  • Determine shipping methods, routes, and rates.

  • Coordinate with logistics carriers and schedule truck shipments, including hazardous materials.

  • Load and unload switchgear and other materials from trucks.

  • Work beyond regular hours as needed.

  • Label inbound materials and process accessory boxes for shipping.

  • Maintain and improve 5S standards in the stockroom and shipping/receiving bay.


Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong typing and email communication skills.

  • Able to collaborate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and external partners.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Analytical problem-solving ability.

  • Knowledge of policies, products, and procedures.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (preferred but not required).

  • Forklift experience (preferred but not required).

  • Ability to lift objects occasionally and perform moderate physical tasks.

  • Flexible work hours (8 AM 4:30 PM preferred).
