Shipping & Receiving Associate – Chevrolet Parts Department

Job Description

Are you new to the workforce or looking to change careers? We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our Chevrolet dealership Parts Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, staying organized, and wants to grow their career in the automotive industry. This is an entry level position and the right candidate will demonstrate the aptitude and desire to advance to a Parts Counter position over time.

This position plays a key role in ensuring parts are received, stocked and distributed accurately to support our Service Department and our Retail and Wholesale parts customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving

· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming Chevrolet parts and accessories.

· Check shipments against invoices and packing slips for accuracy.

· Process returns, cores and warranty parts according to GM and dealership procedures.

· Prepare outbound shipments and inter-dealership transfers.

Inventory & Organization

· Stock, label and organize parts in designated storage locations.

· Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized parts warehouse.

· Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.

· Notify management of discrepancies, shortages or damaged parts.

Support & Customer Service

· Deliver parts to technicians and internal departments efficiently.

· Assist counter staff as needed during busy periods.

· Learn the Chevrolet parts catalog, numbering system and dealership software.

· Provide professional and courteous service to internal team members.

· Deliver parts to wholesale customers and pick up parts from other vendors as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Basic computer skills.

· Previous automotive, warehouse, or parts experience preferred but not required.
