Job description

The salary range for this role is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Overtime Eligible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts pre-shift safety inspections and completes report.
  • Loads and unloads bulk rail and bulk truck with cement.
  • Operates and checks air slides and adjusts air pressure when needed.
  • Accurately completes required materials management reports (BOL) using the computer and paper forms.
  • Operates rail switches for locomotive rail car movement.
  • Performs maintenance on terminal equipment as scheduled.
  • Performs housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties.
  • Work closely with terminal manager, terminal operators, customers, and vendors.

Results/Accountabilities

  • Corrects all safety deficiencies immediately.
  • Performs lock out tag out and confined space entry permits or tags according to safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal and telephone skills when working with terminal employees, customers, vendors, and the public.
  • Ensures that trucks are loaded dust free.
  • Ensures a high level of accuracy in completing reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.ย 

Work Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude and work experience
  • Successful scores on Work Keys aptitude test.
  • Applied Technology - 4 or higher.
  • Applied Mathematics - 5 or higher.
  • Locating Information - 4 or higher.
  • Reading for Information - 4 or higher.
  • Physical ability to work at heights and confined space enclosures.
  • Demonstrated ability in performing clerical tasks in a neat and accurate manner.
  • Knowledge and use of safety practices and regulations (Lock out tag out, Confined Space Entry etc.)
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel.
