Job description

Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Operator

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Location: Wood Dale, IL

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Shift: 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Requirements: Resume / Interview / Background Check / 10 Panel Drug Test / Authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay Range: $21 to $23/hr

Duties and responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks Assist with receiving materials and ensure proper labeling

  • Label drums, palletize, wrap and band orders following proper procedures

  • Banding and Wrapping all orders as appropriate

  • Package smaller items in appropriate boxes; tape, label and ship

  • **Pack and ship customer orders appropriately for UPS/FedEx/DHL

    **

  • Follow safety procedures and use proper safety equipment for all assigned tasks

  • Participate in safety programs and any assigned supervised training programs

  • Learn and practice environmental health and safety regulations and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for assigned tasks

  • Maintain a clean shipping/warehouse area. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and the work area meets all requirements for safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • **Forklift Experience – Required

  • **UPS WorldShip (Hazmat Experience) – Strongly preferred

  • Basic computer skills

  • **Knowledge of shipping HAZMAT materials by UPS and Truck – Strongly preferred

  • Good communication skills; in person, over the phone and via email.

  • Detail-oriented and professionalism a must

  • Initiative and a positive attitude

  • Competent reading and speaking the English language.

  • This job is performed in a warehouse/outdoor environment.

  • Physical requirements involve 25% sitting, 75% walking/standing
