NOW HIRING: SHIPPING SUPERVISOR
Location: Hayward, CA
Starting Pay: $33.00
 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead a busy shipping and packaging department. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will supervise a team while also actively supporting daily shipping, packaging, logistics, inventory, and material-handling operations.

You will lead 4 Shipping/Packaging Clerks and 1 Driver, while serving as the primary backup for departmental responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Department Management
  • Lead, train, certify, and mentor shipping and packaging employees and the company driver.
  • Assign daily workloads and manage packaging schedules to maintain on-time deliveries.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Manage daily route planning and coordinate customer pickups and deliveries.
  • Create and update SOPs and work instructions as processes improve.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the delivery driver and shipping team.
  • Personally assist with driving routes and packaging operations when needed.
Shipping & Logistics
  • Organize daily shipments based on customer deadlines and lead times.
  • Receive incoming customer orders and parts while ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Manage the customer Will Call desk and provide professional service.
  • Process domestic and international shipments using UPS and FedEx shipping systems.
  • Safely operate an electric forklift and manual pallet jack.
  • Load and unload trucks and safely move high-value and fragile materials.
  • Assist with hands-on packaging and staging of customer orders.
Quality & Safety
  • Ensure parts are properly handled, packaged, and staged to prevent contamination or damage.
  • Review shipping orders, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and internal job documentation for accuracy.
  • Enforce PPE, safety, and workplace standards within the Shipping Department.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for shipping and packaging supplies.
  • Monitor inventory and place replenishment orders as needed.
  • Organize customer orders and storage areas to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of shipping/logistics experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Manufacturing or semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with specialized packaging of high-value, fragile, or precision components preferred.
  • Experience using shipping software such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Shipping, Drivers, and Customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable spending 80%+ of the workday on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 1 year of electric forklift experience, preferably handling high-value or fragile materials.
  • Current forklift certification required.
  • Ability to read, follow, and edit SOPs and work instructions.
  • Clean driving record required to serve as a backup driver(once hired on permeant)
  • Must be comfortable performing hands-on shipping and packaging duties.
