Job description

Position: Assistant Storekeeper

Primary Location: Athens, GA
Additional Work Locations: Madison, Gainesville, Cornelia, and Hartwell, GA
Duration: 3 Years
Client: Georgia Power

We are seeking an Assistant Storekeeper to support inventory, warehousing, order processing, shipping, receiving, and materials logistics activities. This is an entry-level to junior-level opportunity for a dependable individual who can work safely, maintain accurate records, and support multiple warehouse locations as business needs require.

The employee may work at the following locations when support is not required in Athens or Gainesville:

·       Madison: 1391 Lions Club Road, Madison, GA 30650

·       Gainesville: 2294 Shelton Road, Gainesville, GA 30504

·       Cornelia: 1292 Highway 441 Bypass, Cornelia, GA 30531

·       Hartwell: Address to be provided

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist with order processing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and materials handling.

·       Track orders, inventory levels, shipments, and delivery status.

·       Maintain accurate warehouse, inventory, and customer-service records.

·       Prepare shipping, receiving, and delivery documentation.

·       Respond to customer and internal team inquiries and help resolve routine order issues.

·       Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, warehouse, sales, and operations teams.

·       Use inventory and materials-management software for tracking and reporting.

·       Assist with quality-control inspections and compliance checks.

·       Operate warehouse equipment safely and follow all site safety procedures.

·       Travel between assigned Georgia locations based on operational needs.

·       Lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.

 

Qualifications

·       0–5 years of experience in warehousing, inventory, logistics, shipping and receiving, materials management, or a related field.

·       Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

·       Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.

·       Basic computer skills and willingness to learn inventory-management systems.

·       Good communication, customer-service, and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to work safely in a warehouse or materials-handling environment.

·       Willingness and ability to report to multiple work locations as assigned.

·       Certified Forklift Operator certification is required or strongly preferred.
