Summary

Provides leadership, supervision, and coaching to subordinates, while maintaining overall operations and improvement of the department. Manages daily operations, expands future business, analyzes and corrects problems that arise, supports subordinates' growth, coordinates activities and supports customer needs. Supervises multiple shift operation to ensure efficient, safe receipt, handling, storage and shipping of scrap metals at a single Green Metals' production facility.

What You'll Do

  • Selecting, training and supervising employees in safe, efficient conduct of daily operations across multiple shifts

  • Overseeing the operation of equipment such as mobile crane, overhead crane, forklift, baler machine and OTR CDL-required transportation equipment (tractor & trailers)

  • Coordinating with maintenance and repair personnel through their supervisors to ensure equipment downtime is minimized through effective preventive and responsive maintenance and repair activity

  • Coordinating movement and activities of inbound and outbound scrap hauler a and rail cars; ensuring effective administrative procedures are followed to track, record and measure scrap volumes and movement.

  • Leading in continuous improvement by establishing and improving work instructions and process procedures intended to improve material transportation, receiving, shipping and handling actives

  • Ensuring the implementation of effective safety and environmental systems for the safety of GMI and transportation personnel, equipment and property; ensuring that all areas of the facility and work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion

  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory safety (OHSA) and environmental (EPA) and similar requirements

  • Providing production activity data to support budgeting, planning, and regular reporting; preparing and presenting various business report as required by GMI management

  • Other duties may be assigned

What You Need

Associates degree from college or technical school, or equivalent work experience; and three or more years' experience supervising other supervisors.

Travel

Less than 25%.
