About the Role:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire logistics and supply chain operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods within the United States and internationally. This role involves managing warehousing, inventory control, and transportation activities to meet customer demands and company objectives. The Logistics Manager will lead teams to implement best practices in warehouse management systems (WMS) and reverse logistics processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards. They will collaborate closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to streamline operations and resolve any logistical challenges promptly. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain network.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management or a similar role.
- Proven experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage reverse logistics and logistics operations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP).
- Experience working with global supply chains and multi-modal transportation.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics and logistics software tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with company goals and customer requirements.
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Coordinate shipping activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery.
- Oversee reverse logistics processes to handle returns, repairs, and recycling efficiently.
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Lead and mentor logistics and warehouse staff to maintain high productivity and safety standards.
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and sales teams to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
- Maintain and optimize the use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to logistics and transportation.
