**Primary Responsibilities**

  • Build an exciting business strategy and grow your book of business with carriers you'll develop strong relationships with.
  • Expand your carrier network while keeping those relationships rock-solid and mutually beneficial.
  • Negotiate freight rates that work for everyone and keep the deals flowing.
  • Own your daily shipments-make sure pickups and deliveries happen like clockwork.
  • Team up with your crew on pricing strategy and account implementation plans to crush it together.
  • Communicate like a pro-both internally and externally-keeping everyone in the loop.
  • Jump on transportation problems with urgency and professionalism; you're the problem-solver.
  • Hunt for new carriers strategically based on volume and lane density to keep your network fresh.
  • Stay sharp on shipping lanes, geography, and seasonality-be the market knowledge expert.

Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location)

  • Generally in an indoor office setting; may include occasional participation in outdoor company events.

  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.

  • Proficient in Google Drive and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, reports).

Physical Requirements

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.

  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.

  • Ability to work in a seated position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
