Job description

AquaPhoenix Scientific, located in Fort Worth, Texas has an opening for an experienced Shipping and Packing Specialistprimarily responsible for the leading and coordinating the shipping and packing operations including specialized panels and equipment used in the commercial water treatment industry.

The Shipping and Packing Specialist is a full-time, hourly position with full benefits and no direct reports.

The Shipping and Packing Specialist is a hands-on position requiring the drive and persistence to meet the following Company goals:

  • Accuracy of on-time shipments to our customers

AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Shipping and Packing Specialist position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three or more years’ work experience in a shipping, logistics, inventory or similar role.

Other key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Pack, prepare, and ship orders in accordance with company standards, shipping regulations and customer specification.
  • Ensure that all orders are processed accurately and promptly including reviewing the integrity of packaged contents prior to shipping.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to quality, contents, delays, or carrier errors.
  • Pro-actively coordinate with carriers and customers to consistently determine best method of shipment – reviewing cost, customer needs, efficiency, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and code shipping invoices and other shipping documents as necessary.
  • Problem-solve escalated shipping concerns from customer service, logistic partners, sales, or customers.
  • Complete and maintain trade compliance documents and required shipping paperwork.
  • Review, submit and track freight claims.
  • Maintain a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to cross-collaborate with other departments to achieve company objectives.
  • Overtime may be necessary to ensure shipments are processed and loaded on-time as required.

Other helpful skills and qualifications include:

  • Familiarity and knowledge of ISO9001 standards, Lean manufacturing, and Kanban initiatives.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook.
  • Speak, read, and write English to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and/or instructions.
  • Wear appropriate PPE as required by Company and OSHA standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive work ethic and a sense of urgency in completing work assignments; maintaining a proactive “can do” approach to all responsibilities.
  • Able to stand, sit, move, bend, twist for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Execute assignments in an ethical, accurate, timely, and safe manner with the ability to perform tasks through to completion.
