Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler

Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $19.00$21.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: MondayFriday, 6:00 AM 4:00 PM

Position Overview

Openwork is partnering with a respected industrial client to hire an experienced Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler. This role plays a key part in daily operations by ensuring materials are received, handled, and shipped accurately and efficiently.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who values consistency, takes pride in their work, and performs well in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition

  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and warehouse equipment

  • Store and organize materials in designated areas

  • Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments

  • Complete shipping documentation including bills of lading and packing slips

  • Move materials throughout the facility to support operations

  • Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts

  • Operate forklifts in a heavy-use environment

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

  • Work outdoors approximately 70% of the time

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling

  • Strong forklift experience required

  • Consistent attendance and reliable work history

  • Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds regularly

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Reliable transportation

  • Basic computer skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
