Job description

Position Purpose:
Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
  • Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
  • Correspond with customers and sales using tools provided
  • Monitor shipping schedule and correspond with Scheduler
  • Maintain filing system
  • Process customer pickups as required
  • Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts
  • Administer the truck scheduling system
  • Develop delivery schedules for all orders
  • Recommend changes for improvements in efficiencies and performance
  • Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed
  • Compile a daily performance report and distribute
  • Contact and schedule outside carriers as required
  • Assist in warehouse as needed
  • Respot trailers as needed
  • Reconcile daily shipping log
  • Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers
  • Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies
  • Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
  • Ensure all projects completed timely and accurately
  • Work from written and verbal directions
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area
  • Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting

Skill Set:
