Job description

Job Summary: The Shipping Specialist is responsible for leading and overseeing domestic and international shipping operations, ensuring accurate and timely execution while maintaining compliance with customer-specific requirements, regulatory standards, and company procedures. This role provides day-to-day leadership of shipping and logistics activities, oversees ERP shipping transactions, coordinates transportation and carrier relationships, and ensures accurate documentation and shipment traceability.

The Shipping Specialist serves as a key partner between Warehouse Operations, Customer Service, Production, Accounting, carriers, and customers. This position is responsible for driving shipping performance, resolving logistics issues, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, service levels, and transportation costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Analyze and optimize logistics processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Plan and manage logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving and shipping of goods.

Transportation Management:

  • Coordinate and manage transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Negotiate with carriers and logistics providers to secure favorable rates and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate transportation performance, addressing any issues related to delivery times, costs, or service quality.

Supplier and Customer Coordination:

  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations and resolve any issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and communication.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any logistics-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
