Job description

Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Pack and Ship Coordinator in our Leetonia, OH facility.  The Pack and Ship Coordinator will be primarily responsible to retrieve order and packing specification information plus retrieve pack supplies to pass on to the packers. This position will be responsible for moving buggies of extrusions to the packing area or the saws from the age ovens. This position will also be responsible for loading packed material into proper location for staging of shipments or loaded onto a truck. A fork truck and crane use will be a key portion of the position. When not coordinating materials, this position will be responsible for packing as well. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinates the packing activity and schedule for the shipping employees to meet the shipping truck schedule and customer due dates.
  • Determines amount of packing material and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and assures packing materials are available.
  • Coordinates the finishing / cutback saw activity for the Final Inspection employees per the production and shipping truck schedule.
  • Coordinates the Shipping and Receiving activity, schedules trucks for shipments to customers or outside processors.  Completes all forms, paperwork, manifests, bill of lading as required.
  • Develops new part packing instructions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems as an individual or on a team and also assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Unloads Ovens and verifies all proper testing is completed prior to packing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Six months of packing experience.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities        

  • Valid forklift operator's license and have prior forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
