Certified Forklift Operator
Location: Michigan City, IN
Shift: Primarily 3rd Shift (10:45 PM – 7:00 AM)
Assignment Duration: July 20, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Certified Forklift Operator to join its warehouse operations team in Michigan City, IN. This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport finished products, load and unload shipments, and support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates must have recent forklift experience and be comfortable working in a production setting while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to transport palletized materials throughout the warehouse and storage yard.
- Remove palletized shingles from the production line and move them to designated storage locations.
- Load finished products onto trailers and railcars for shipment.
- Perform warehouse material handling of decking, rails, and other production materials.
- Stage, organize, and store inventory in assigned warehouse locations.
- Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and report any equipment issues.
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, and warehouse operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Primary Schedule: 3rd Shift – 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM
- Must be flexible to work between 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM as business needs require.
- During the initial assignment, employees may be scheduled for 12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM).
- All new hires will complete at least one week of training on the 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM shift.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of forklift operating experience within the past two years (required).
- Current forklift certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts while moving heavy palletized products.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and productivity.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.

- Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, warehouse noise, and industrial equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and forklift operation throughout the shift.
