Job description

Director, Enterprise Risk Management

Blue Cross NC is hiring a Director, Enterprise Risk Management to lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the organization’s enterprise risk management framework. This role is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, managing, and communicating enterprise risks while partnering with executive leaders, business unit leaders, and governance bodies, including the Audit Committee and Enterprise Risk Committee, to embed risk-based thinking into strategic planning, operations, and capital decisions.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct all aspects of enterprise risk management and support throughout the organization to achieve business objectives and strategies.
  • Proactively promotes organization-wide understanding of enterprise risks and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, including facilitation of enterprise risk assessment, stress testing, and preparation of the annual ORSA report.
  • Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership, risk committees, and the Board.
  • Understand the business implications of risk management and coordinate with the appropriate level of management to develop practical and actionable business solutions in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor risk appetite metrics, key risk indicators, and emerging risks and report to management and the Board as needed.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews of risk appetite statements, policies, and governing practices.
  • Monitor regulatory, industry, and healthcare trends to identify potential impacts to the organization.
  • Promote a strong risk culture through education, communication, and consultation across the enterprise.
  • Lead the corporate insurance and captive management programs to effectively manage insurance risks.
What You Bring
  • A bachelor’s degree in a risk management, finance or business administration
  • 10 years experience in risk management and consulting or public accounting
  • 5 years leadership experience CRM, CRMA, ARM or CPA
  • In lieu of degree, 12+ years of experience in related field

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. *Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance. $157,978.00 - $252,765.00
