This is a Sherman Associates owned Marriott International, Inc franchised location.

This position is responsible for managing the overall day-to-day and long term operations of the housekeeping department including the upkeep of all the guestrooms, public spaces, and the outdoor surroundings. Establish and maintain a proven set of processes to assure the hotel is consistently clean taking personal responsibility and pride in both the execution and the results. Provide ongoing training and support for the housekeeping department employees.

Schedule: Schedule subject to needs of the operation. Shifts begin at 8:30AM.

Pay: $19-20/hour

Essential Functions

  • Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, manage and monitor performance while making any recommendations for disciplinary actions
  • Monitors commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order
  • Assists with training of employees and ensuring that they have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties
  • Assists with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage
  • May perform all housekeeping duties necessary including cleaning guest rooms and hotel public space to ensure guest satisfaction and owner expectations
  • Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to complete inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies
  • Inspects all assigned guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest expectations
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education required
  • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience with at least 6 months in housekeeping management at a supervisory or manager level
  • Reading and writing abilities are required in order to document tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive instructions for the day and/or to read equipment manuals including safety information
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a multi-lingual workplace environment
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
  • Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
  • Exposure to/handling of biological substances such as blood, urine, and vomit

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis
  • Must be able to lift up to 50-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Requires frequent kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment

  • Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.
