px group is a fully integrated infrastructure solutions business, providing innovative operations management, engineering services and energy management solutions to partners in high hazard, highly regulated industries. Our focus is improving operating performance of commercial and industrial facilities, with zero harm to people, environment, asset and reputation.
We're thrilled to have been awarded a 10-year Operations & Maintenance contract by WELP  at the world's first commercial scale plastic recycling plant and are now looking to form our amazing site team.
Based in Teesside, you'll be key in delivering excellence in safe, efficient operations and maintenance using HydroPRS technology to chemically recycle end-of-life plastic. Joining us as we commission and start up, your experience and contributions will see us achieve recycling of over 20,000 tonnes of waste plastic each year, with the scope for expansion as we grow.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager will be the site 'Accountable Person', ensuring compliance and delivery of the px Group Operating Standard through leadership, direction and management of strategy, actions and results.  
You'll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
  • Successfully lead, engage and manage the WELP management team in implementation of the above. 
  • Be the site SHEQ role model consistently demonstrating px's zero harm SHEQ and risk management strategies, values, behaviours and practices to internal and external customers, clients, regulatory, insurance and other third parties through positive engagement and management, ensuring all requirements are met. 
  • Develop, lead and deliver the WELP site philosophy, procedures and systems, enabling effective, timely achievement of performance measures and statutory and management reporting, their effective communication, understanding and monitoring by all relevant employees. 
  • Build, maintain and manage effective and timely client relationships balancing and delivering px and client requirements ensuring safe, efficient asset running and excellent & adaptable customer/client service. 
  • Effectively plan, justify, control and optimise site budgets, financial considerations and contracts. 
  • Actively support and seek opportunities to support the growth and development of the px business with existing clients and local business infrastructures, to maximise opportunities and business relationships.

  • HNC qualification in engineering/process (or equivalent). 
  • Successful management experience with leaderships skills, team building and decision making skills. 
  • Knowledge of relevant UK / European legislation & best practice for process plant operation. 
  • Plant SHE systems & procedures knowledge. 
  • Technical, personnel development & change management experience, including Human Resource actions. 
  • Working knowledge & application of quality / environmental system compliance, risk & improvement. 
  • Strategic contribution & experience in operations or engineering  environments. Including contract management, client interface, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management, team development & risk based decision making.  
  • Business planning experience: development & implementing strategies & projects, etc.  
  • Budgets experience: planning, justification, and control of budgets.
