Their main duties include developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards, conducting audits, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace. SHEQ Managers work across various industries and play a vital role in risk management, employee training, and continuous improvement of safety and quality systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a SHEQ manager?

To thrive as a SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Manager, you typically need a strong background in occupational health and safety, environmental management, and quality assurance, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications like NEBOSH or ISO lead auditor status. Familiarity with industry-specific compliance systems, risk assessment tools, and safety management software is commonly required. These competencies are crucial for ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing risks, and promoting operational excellence within an organization.
