Primary Function

The Deal Manager is responsible for the successful boarding or de-boarding of loans in accordance with industry regulations and Shellpoint's policies and procedures. This high energy professional will coordinate all transfer related tasks to ensure a timely and seamless transfer. The Deal Manager will create transparency and prepare applicable business units within Shellpoint and external servicers through reporting, data sharing, conference calls and emails. This position will maintain a high focus on meeting department KPIs.

Principal Duties

  • Maintain department organization and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain stated key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory items such as Goodbye Letter, Welcome Letter, and Investor Change (404) Letter.
  • Work with both internal and external parties to establish a transfer timeline.
  • Initiate and host routine conference calls with servicers to confirm critical due dates, review and explain transfer related documents (Transfer Instructions, Servicer Questionnaires, etc.) and coordinate question resolution.
  • Manage completion of all transfer related tasks using heatmaps and checklists.
  • Coordinate the exchange of information, such as preliminary data, final data, origination and servicing documents, invoices and transaction and comment history, between servicer and internal business units.
  • Work closely with the Data Mapping and Validation Analysts to evaluate/understand and prioritize data exceptions.
  • Assist the business units by providing the transfer data and setting up department specific calls as needed to facilitate a seamless transfer.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide Portfolio Management or clients weekly updates on current transfers and upcoming transfers increasing transparency in the transfer process.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years' applicable mortgage servicing related experience required.
  • 2+ years of loan transfer experience.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • The ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SQL.
  • Emphasis on excel formulas and ability to execute queries in SQL.
  • Must have analytical skills and the ability to interpret loan data.
  • Project management skills.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Work in an environment that requires multitasking and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Certain after hours/weekend support may be necessary for projects or high business volume situations.
  • After hours/ weekend email monitoring
