Description
The team is seeking a driven inside sales representative to manage and grow a defined book of accounts in the oilfield country tubular goods (OCTG) and line pipe market. This role is responsible for sourcing, quoting, and closing transactions on assigned pipe sizes and grades, building lasting customer relationships, and identifying new revenue opportunities within the assigned account base.
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day sales activity for an assigned portfolio of operator, drilling contractor, and distributor accounts.
  • Develop deep knowledge of assigned pipe sizes, grades, and connections (e.g., casing, tubing, drill pipe) and accurately communicate specifications, availability, and pricing to customers.
  • Solicit, prepare, and deliver competitive quotes in a timely manner; follow up to close transactions and meet monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Source pipe inventory from mills, distributors, and secondary market suppliers to fulfill customer requirements on assigned sizes.
  • Track and manage open orders, coordinate logistics, and keep customers informed on lead times and delivery status.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, quotes, and transactions in the CRM system.
  • Monitor market pricing, mill lead times, and inventory trends for assigned product lines and communicate relevant intelligence to management and customers.
  • Develop new contacts within assigned accounts to expand relationships and increase wallet share.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate, on-time fulfillment.
  • Assist with collections and resolve customer billing or order discrepancies as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 2+ years of inside sales, account management, or supply chain experience - OCTG, tubular, or oil and gas industry strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of oilfield pipe products: casing, tubing, line pipe, grades (J-55, L-80, P-110, etc.), and API/premium connections.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of quotes and transactions with accuracy and urgency.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; comfortable building rapport over phone and email.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and order management systems.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • Must be able to work onsite in the Houston office Monday-Thursday until 3 p.m.
  • Must be available for after-hours calls from customers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbsTop of Form.
