Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

Location: DMV Region (VA / MD / DC)

Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on experience
Prevailing Wage Opportunities: $60–$75 per hour when available depending on project classification

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics to support our growing mechanical construction projects across the DMV region.

This role focuses on the installation of commercial ductwork and sheet metal HVAC systems on new construction and renovation projects.

Types of Projects

Our teams work on a variety of large commercial construction projects, including:

  • Multifamily and mixed-use developments

  • Universities and educational facilities

  • Healthcare and medical buildings

  • Office buildings and tenant fit-outs

  • Hospitality and hotel projects


Key Responsibilities
  • Install commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints

  • Perform layout and installation of air distribution systems

  • Install dampers, fittings, and related HVAC components

  • Operate lifts, power tools, and installation equipment

  • Maintain job site safety standards and cleanliness

  • Work with Foremen and crews to meet project schedules
