Sheet Metal Operator
Location: Jefferson Street, New Lisbon
Shift: 1st (5:00 am-1:30 pm)
This role will work in the Sheet Metal dept at theJefferson Street plant. Position must have the ability to read blueprints and cut lists and make all of the setups on the machine. Conscious of quality at all times, always checking for accuracy of cut size or bend. Must be able to competently run most of the machines in the department.
Requirements:
  • Must become proficient on all equipment in the sheet metal department
  • Ability to make setups on assigned machines according to blueprints
  • Must be conscious of quality at all times-always checking shear size BEFORE starting a run, checking the first run piece and every 10 pieces with proper print for proper part
  • Must do preventative measurement/bend checks before starting run
  • Must be willing and able to train others to perform the job
  • Must possess a good attitude and ability to work well with others
  • Must have the ability to communicate well with other departments and supervision
  • Must possess basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator and basic measuring tools
  • Flexible schedule and mindful of work load required
  • Overtime as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Must understand & be able to follow ALL safe operating procedures & requirements
  • Ability to use small hand tools in a safe manner
  • Ability to read measurement devices accurately
  • Must take ownership and be champion of the primary machine
  • Must be reliable, cooperative, self-motivated and self-disciplined

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift 50-75lbs., plus on a continual basis
  • Ability to push and pull carts
  • Ability to use repetitive motions
  • Ability to reach overhead and/or above shoulder height frequently
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to be on time and at work on a daily basis
