Who We Are and Why This Role Matters

At The Shaw Group, we are seeking a Data Center Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly knowledgeable professional with a deep understanding of data center operations, infrastructure, and technology. This role is critical for defining pipe fabrication and modular solutions that address the unique challenges and business needs of our data center clients.


What You Will Do

  • Customer Engagement and Solution Development
  • Partner with Business Development to support customer engagements from discovery through solution design
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable data center and infrastructure solutions
  • Lead technical discussions, presentations, and solution reviews with clients and partners
  • Support RFP and RFI responses with clear, competitive technical proposals


Technical Solutioning and Execution Alignment

  • Design solutions across data center infrastructure, modular builds, and supporting systems
  • Align proposed solutions with Shawโ€™s engineering, fabrication, and project execution capabilities
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure feasibility and delivery success
  • Support scope definition, pricing inputs, and statement of work development


Market Development and Strategic Partnerships

  • Build sustainable relationships with EPC firms, OEMs, project developers, and facility operators
  • Represent Shaw at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
  • Partner with leadership to shape strategy for data center market growth
  • Stay current on trends in data centers, cloud connectivity, and digital infrastructure


What You Bring

  • Experience and Technical Expertise
  • 7+ years of progressive experience across data center infrastructure, mission critical construction, EPC, ownerโ€™s rep, hyperscaler, or design-build environments with exposure to multiple infrastructure disciplines
  • Strong understanding of data center design, project phases, and core systems such as power, cooling, and network connectivity
  • Experience supporting enterprise or largescale project environments


Business and Communication Skills

  • Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value for customers
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills across technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Comfortable working across Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams


Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Ability to reach with hands or arms, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, grip, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and to perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
