Job Description

The position is responsible for the set-up and configuration of SharePoint Services on Servers, maintenance of Web Front End Servers, Indexing Servers, manages and checks the overall server health and functionality. ย Monitors SharePoint disk space usage through the built-in SharePoint reports for each site collection. ย Manages SharePoint permissions, analyzes and reports upon SharePoint usage and activity. ย Moves/copies sites, supports network load balancing needs and ensuring its correct operation (NLB). ย Regular review of the events and messages reported in Event Viewer and Performance Monitor. ย Regular review, clean-up, management and configuration of SharePoint accounts and sites. This portion of the role will work closely with Active Directory. ย Regularly analyzing SharePoint content and storage, monitors SharePoint trends (e.g. site usage and growth, disk space usage and growth). ย Sets up alerts and enforces policies. ย Regularly auditing the SharePoint environment, identifying and reporting governance violations. ย Checks for operating system, SQL Server and SharePoint patches and cumulative updates as needed. ย Prioritizes and plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; uses time efficiently; communicates activities and results as appropriate.

Qualifications


ย Thorough working knowledge of SQL Server basic operation, tuning, transaction log selection, backup and recovery, and maintenance planning
- General knowledge of networking, IP, DNS, load balancing as well as the concepts of availability, scalability, and maintainability
- Thorough working knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic operation of websites. Application Pools, IIS administration, IIS Metabase, and SSL Certifications
- Working knowledge of Windows operating system and hardware, basic administration of server including service packs and hot fixes
- Experience in Performance Point and SharePoint analysis and design, business process modeling, requirements gathering, quality assurance and software development
- Considerable working knowledge of multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, and multiple development platforms
