Job description

CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
Position Summary
W2 or 1099
DBIR is seeking a Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Migration Architect to support the modernization and migration of a legacy Microsoft Access-based business application into Microsoft SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing legacy data structures and relationships, designing the target SharePoint Online information architecture, building and configuring SharePoint components, developing migration mappings and procedures, and supporting Government-led migration and validation activities.
This is not a traditional SharePoint administrator position. The role requires strong experience with data modeling, application modernization, SharePoint architecture, permissions, migration planning, and relational business data.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze legacy database tables, fields, relationships, business rules, and data dependencies.
  • Translate legacy relational data structures into an optimized SharePoint Online architecture.
  • Design and configure SharePoint Online lists, libraries, metadata, content structures, identifiers, and relationships.
  • Develop data mapping specifications between legacy data sources and target SharePoint structures.
  • Design permission models and role-based access using Microsoft 365 and SharePoint capabilities.
  • Configure document libraries, transaction-log repositories, archival structures, views, and metadata.
  • Develop and document migration procedures for Government execution.
  • Create synthetic test data and support validation of target structures prior to production migration.
  • Support migration dry runs, deployment activities, data reconciliation, and post-migration validation.
  • Identify data-quality, relationship, duplication, and structural issues that could affect migration.
  • Support retention, archival, historical-record, and audit requirements.
  • Work closely with Power Platform developers to ensure SharePoint structures support application and workflow requirements.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, diagrams, field mappings, configuration documentation, and as-built materials.
  • Participate in technical reviews, UAT, troubleshooting, and Government knowledge-transfer sessions.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Microsoft collaboration, data migration, application modernization, or related technical experience.
  • 5+ years of substantial SharePoint experience, including SharePoint Online.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex SharePoint lists, libraries, metadata structures, permissions, relationships, and information architectures.
  • Experience migrating data from legacy databases, applications, spreadsheets, or other structured data sources into Microsoft 365.
  • Strong understanding of relational data concepts, primary/foreign keys, identifiers, data normalization, reference data, and data integrity.
  • Experience developing migration mapping documents, validation procedures, reconciliation processes, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate integration with SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with role-based security and SharePoint permission structures.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable Government access or suitability requirements.
Highly Desired Qualifications
  • Experience migrating or modernizing Microsoft Access applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 GCC High, DoD, or Flank Speed.
  • DoD or Federal Government project experience.
  • Microsoft MS-102 or comparable Microsoft 365 certification.
  • Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft 365 role-based certifications.
  • Experience with PowerShell, migration utilities, data transformation tools, SQL, or ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Federal records-management, archival, audit, and information-governance requirements.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and directly relevant experience will be considered.
