Job Summary

Responsible for performing duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Line or Transmission/Distribution Station facilities including those of a complex nature. Additionally, may be responsible for supervising others who are performing other /similar construction site duties on related projects.

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Construction Oversight: Manage all facets of transmission station and line construction to ensure successful project delivery within budget, schedule, and scope parameters. Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain quality through safety observations and documentation, in collaboration with the team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Construction Expertise: Provide construction expertise to facilitate optimal engineered design. Review civil grading, grounding, foundation, conduit/cable schedules, wiring diagrams, electrical assembly drawings, One-Lines, switching diagrams, bus wiring diagrams, steel drawings, PNP drawings, manufacturer's drawings, and SWPPP. Work with project teams to resolve construction, material, or engineering issues discovered during the project phase. Submit Field Mark Prints to reflect as-built installations and provide feedback on lessons learned and best practices during project closeout meetings.
  • Environmental Compliance: Work with the environmental team and stakeholders to adhere to policies, including the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and manage permit closures upon project completion.
  • Right of Way: Coordinate support for right-of-way (ROW) agreements with the team and stakeholders to ensure unobstructed access for construction and maintenance. Secure necessary easements and resolve land use issues.
  • Permitting and Agreements: Ensure compliance with landowner and governmental agreements, facilitating adherence to necessary permits for crossings and site access.
  • Document Review: Review project documents and drawings, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality before final issuance.
  • Materials Management: Support the planning and execution of materials and equipment management, ensuring timely ordering and proper inventory control to minimize disruptions.
  • Outage Planning: Collaborate with the Outage Planning team and stakeholders to coordinate schedules, oversee project outage plans, and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate contractor, inspection, and safety resources throughout all project phases, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
  • Compliance Documentation: Issue In-Service notifications for project assets and complete required compliance documentation, maintaining accurate records for regulatory purposes.
  • Capital Commissioning Support: Verify the Capital Commissioning Checklist and actively participate in the execution of bids and validation of contractor timesheets with the team and stakeholders to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Emergency Response Management: Oversee contractor resources during emergency response efforts, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Mentor: Provide coaching to lower-level TCRs and engage in training program development to enhance team capabilities.
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong analytical skillset to support project management tasks effectively.
  • Leverage various technical tools and applications, such as MS 365, GIS, and scheduling software, to enhance overall project execution and collaboration. Proficiency with IOS devices and SharePoint.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Science with emphasis on project/construction management or bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related technology field with a minimum of 6 years of project/construction management work experience
  • OR an associate degree in Construction Management Technology, Project Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related technology field with 8 years' work experience in the electric industry, or project/construction management/oversight
  • OR High School graduate or equivalent with 10 years related experience in electric industry or project management/oversight

Transmission Construction Representative Principal SG8

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Science with emphasis on project/construction management or bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related technology field with a minimum of 8 years of project/construction management work experience
  • OR an associate degree in Construction Management Technology, Project Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related technology field with 10 years' work experience in the electric industry, or project/construction management/oversight
  • OR High School graduate or equivalent with 12 years related experience in electric industry or project management/oversight

  • Up to 20% travel to job site
