Job Description:Our client is seeking a Lead SharePoint Developer to serve as an application lead and technical subject matter expert across its Microsoft technology ecosystem. This role will focus heavily on SharePoint Online, with additional responsibility across Dynamics 365, Power Pages, Power Platform, and Azure. The ideal candidate is a senior-level Microsoft engineer who can independently evaluate technical challenges, recommend solutions, and lead enhancements across a complex enterprise environment. This is not an order-taking development role—the successful candidate will be expected to understand business needs, evaluate technical options, and take ownership of solutions from design through implementation and production support.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the application lead and technical SME for SharePoint Online and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Own technical solutions for application enhancements, operational issues, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate business and technical requirements and recommend appropriate Azure, Microsoft 365, and security solutions.
  • Administer, enhance, troubleshoot, and provide production support for SharePoint Online environments.
  • Support SharePoint modernization and migration activities involving large volumes of enterprise data and multiple sites.
  • Ensure permissions and access-management requirements are maintained when modernizing or migrating SharePoint environments.
  • Design and build applications, forms, and workflows using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related Power Platform technologies.
  • Create, enhance, and support Dynamics 365 and Power Pages solutions.
  • Develop integrations between SharePoint and third-party systems using SharePoint REST APIs and Microsoft Graph APIs.
  • Develop Azure-based integrations and middleware using services such as Azure Functions and Service Bus.
  • Evaluate Azure services and recommend appropriate architectures while accounting for enterprise security requirements.
  • Partner with security teams to review proposed solutions and ensure appropriate security controls are implemented.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-grade PowerShell scripts used to automate Microsoft platform processes.
  • Translate data retention and archival requirements into Microsoft 365 retention solutions.
  • Manage ServiceNow tickets involving production issues, support requests, and application enhancements.
  • Work directly with internal customers to understand enhancement requests, develop solutions, roll out functionality, and provide user training.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and demonstrations.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and peer reviews to developers working across related Microsoft technologies.
  • Work independently with technical leaders and architects while taking ownership of assigned application and platform initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7–8 years of experience within SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure, or related Microsoft application development environments.
  • Strong hands-on SharePoint Online experience.
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting, enhancing, and supporting enterprise SharePoint environments.
  • Experience with SharePoint information architecture, permissions, access management, and Microsoft 365 Groups.
  • Strong Dynamics 365 experience.
  • Hands-on Power Pages experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Strong Azure experience, including the ability to evaluate and recommend Azure services for application solutions.
  • Experience with Azure Functions/Function Apps and integration services.
  • Understanding of Azure security and authentication concepts.
  • Experience integrating SharePoint and third-party applications through APIs.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Graph and/or SharePoint REST APIs.
  • Experience working with OAuth 2.0/Azure AD authentication.
  • Ability to independently evaluate technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users, technical teams, architects, and security stakeholders.
  • Proactive leadership style with the ability to independently drive technical solutions rather than wait for detailed direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience migrating SharePoint 2013/2019 environments to SharePoint Online.
  • Experience migrating large-scale SharePoint environments involving multiple sites and terabytes of data.
  • ShareGate migration experience.
  • PowerShell scripting experience, particularly enterprise-scale automation.
  • SharePoint Server 2019 or SharePoint Server Subscription Edition experience.
  • Experience preserving complex permissions and access-management structures during SharePoint migrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 retention and archival capabilities.
  • Experience developing Azure middleware using C#.
  • Experience with Azure Service Bus.
  • ServiceNow experience.
  • Appian experience.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated or audit-focused enterprise environments.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Certified credentials
