The Work

The SharePoint Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of SharePoint sites, internal web pages, and workflows. This role involves designing user-friendly interfaces, conducting comprehensive software testing, managing software defect documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites, internal web pages, and create simple workflows to streamline business processes.
  • Develop clear and user-friendly layouts, navigation structures, and content architectures.
  • Enhance application functionality by developing new features, refactoring existing code, and fixing defects.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive software test plans to identify defects and their root causes.
  • Conduct system modification testing to ensure readiness for implementation.
  • Implement and manage automated and manual test cases, execute tests, and proactively identify edge cases.
  • Participate in defect triage and conduct regression testing before deployment.
  • Work with business analysts, end-users, and leadership to translate functional requirements into maintainable interfaces and applications.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on system functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and implementation schedules.
  • Document application and software defects in a bug tracking system and work closely with developers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support production and development environments through debugging, troubleshooting, and monitoring system performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases of known defects for streamlined resolution.
  • Create and update system documentation, including technical specifications, process workflows, and testing procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and propose enhancements to improve usability, flexibility, or performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • SharePoint/web design, software/application development, or software testing/QA.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and familiarity with modern programming languages or frameworks (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, .NET).
  • Strong understanding of usability principles, accessibility standards, secure coding practices, and structured software development lifecycles.
  • Experience with relational databases, RESTful services, or automated testing frameworks.
  • Active Secret Security clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting government or corporate intranets or mission-critical applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and performance or security testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of web-based workflows, form design, and production support environments.

Working Conditions 

  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
