Rate: $20/hour
Shift: Per Diem

Northgate Health Care Facility is looking to add a Nurse Shadow to its team. This position is designed for nursing students enrolled in the PN2 semester of an LPN program who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to long-term care nursing. In this role, you'll observe licensed nurses, build clinical knowledge, and gain valuable insight into nursing practice while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and shadow assigned LPNs and RNs during daily nursing activities
  • Learn about nursing workflows, communication, documentation, and resident care processes
  • Observe resident conditions and report observations to the assigned preceptor
  • Review vital signs and other resident information under the guidance of the preceptor
  • Assist with gathering supplies and supporting non-clinical tasks as directed
  • Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times
  • Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices
  • Participate in learning opportunities to enhance nursing knowledge and professional development

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in the PN2 semester of a NYS-approved LPN program
  • Strong interest in pursuing a nursing career in long-term care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
