Job description

Account Executives fully own their assigned client relationships. They are the main driver of sales growth, uncaptured spend opportunities and the profitability of those relationships. They coordinate and lead efforts of the Purchasing Department and Supply Chain Coordinators (if applicable) as a unified team to ensure optimal account service and alignment with the client's outlined agreement. This position is characterized by a sustained record of sales achievement and complete knowledge of SFG’s policies, services, initiatives, and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain existing accounts through personal visits and follow-up on a systematic basis. Travel required; anticipated field time is 1-2 days per week.

  • Responsible for achieving annual sales plan through growth and penetration of existing accounts.

  • Present new ideas and products, from vendor partners, exclusive brands or Epic Kitchens, to secure account penetration and loyalty. Manage product mix to maximize profit goals and contract compliance.

  • Communicate with clients to apprise them of mutual performance, new products, programs and market trends both during structured and consistent touch bases and through periodic, formal Business Reviews.

  • Ultimately responsible for results of internal SFG team actions relative to assigned accounts.

  • Work with and help direct internal team and external distributors to execute product and pricing contracts. Ensure the success of the contract at the distributor level including price monitoring and inventory monitoring.

  • Work with and direct a team of individuals to maintain the success of client's products and pricing at the distributor level, including providing customer service support as needed to client locations

Lead sales team accordingly to:

  • Ensure optimum service to accounts including coordination with operational and purchasing functions, as needed.

  • Maximize AE time spent with customers.

  • Meet or exceed AOP targets set prior to the beginning of each year.

  • Review all accounts to ensure program compliance, develop unique sales approach, identify needs, and expand sales.

  • Ensure client team is maintaining a profile on all accounts to include project tracking, client based contacts and overall reporting. Verify pricing information to ensure correctness.

  • Attend Sales Meetings, Training Sessions, Food Shows, and Conferences as deemed necessary by Management and Customer requirements.

Relationships:

  • Internal: SFG applicable positions and staff

  • External: Clients, Vendors, Distributor teams/representatives

Role Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Must have advanced knowledge of Excel formulas, create, format, and sort tables, etc.

  • Food service distribution and/or broker experience preferred (2+yrs).

  • The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with the ability to hold themselves accountable for the completion of their responsibilities. They would be organized with a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and its practical applications. Consistent and clear communication with a range of individuals and groups will be required daily.

  • Strong Organization and time management skills required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
