Job description

DuBois Integrity Academy (DIA) is hiring a Middle School Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. DIA STEM Academy's academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement: STEM (STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We use theme-based interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning.
This position will work to develop in each pupil an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise to motivate each scholar and cultivate physical fitness, hygienic habits, and good social and emotional adjustments. As well as the discovery and development of talents in physical achievement to develop strength, skills, agility, poise; and coordination in individual, dual, and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each scholars' abilities.
Position Summary - Provide health and physical education instructional support to students. Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. Required to provide effective delivery of sports and activity coaching.
Responsibilities:
  • Instructs students using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content fields.
  • Assigns lessons and corrects homework, administers tests to evaluate students' progress, record results and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom, supervise behavior outside of the classroom.
  • Required to coach student athletes in sports or co-curricular activity. Work with the coaching staff in setting rules, policies and regulations for the team.
  • Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines, state, and local requirements.
  • Conduct parent/teacher conferences to review student's progress, performance, and behaviors.
  • Participation in faculty and professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
  • Work closely with other partners to help monitor the impact of delivery and healthy lifestyles.
  • All other duties as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

Key Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred
  • Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC
