Description

The Wardrobe Assistant is responsible for maintaining costumes, mascots, and seasonal uniforms for the Creative & Performing Arts Department. The primary function of this position is sewing and garment care, including altering, mending, modifying, and constructing costumes and other wardrobe items.


The Wardrobe Assistant supports performers by ensuring costumes are clean, properly maintained, and ready for scheduled performances and events.


This is a part-time, seasonal position requiring availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak-season dates. All work is performed on-site at SkyPark.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and functional Wardrobe area.
  • Perform quality alterations, repairs, modifications, and construction of costumes, mascots, and uniforms using hand and machine sewing.
  • Inspect garments and costumes to ensure stitching, buttons, zippers, closures, and other components are secure and in good condition.
  • Launder, steam, press, and otherwise maintain costume pieces as needed.
  • Assist with costume and uniform distribution to employees.
  • Assist performers with putting on and properly adjusting assigned costumes when needed.
  • Ensure costumes are prepared and available for scheduled performances and events.
  • Maintain professional behavior, including promptness, punctuality, preparedness, and appropriate communication.
  • Work efficiently under time constraints, particularly when costumes require same-day repairs or preparation.
  • Follow SkyPark policies, safety procedures, wardrobe protocols, and management direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Perform sewing and garment work requiring good hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday as needed.
  • Work with sewing machines, irons/steamers, and other wardrobe equipment.
  • Lift and move wardrobe items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive costume needs.
  • Work on-site at SkyPark.
