About this role:

As a General Surgeon at Sevier Valley Hospital, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will provide broad general surgery care in a community-based setting with a mix of clinic, operative cases, endoscopy, inpatient care, and call responsibilities.

In addition to a primary practice in Richfield, you may also have the opportunity to provide coverage at Delta Community Hospital and Fillmore Community Hospital. If you're passionate about rural medicine, collaborative care, and making a lasting difference in the communities you serve, you'll find a rewarding opportunity to expand access to high-quality surgical services throughout Central Utah.

  • You'll practice at Sevier Valley Hospital and Sevier Valley Specialty Clinic
  • Clinic schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:00 pm
  • Typical week includes 1.5 days endoscopy, one full day in the OR, and variable clinic time.
  • Call coverage is shared among the group and is expected to evolve as the practice grows
  • This position includes a $50K sign-on bonus and up to $20K relocation assistance (if applicable)

What you'll bring:

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS, ACLS certification and DEA
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process

Office space is located on the Sevier Valley Medical Center campus that provides the county with 24-hour Emergency service. The hospital's medical staff consists of eight doctors in Family Practice, 2 in General Surgery, and 1 in Radiology. The 3 OR's (with the ability to add a fourth one) are equipped for laparoscopic, lasers and open procedures.

Sevier Valley Hospital is a nationally recognized Top 20 rural hospital and Level IV Trauma Center located in Richfield, Utah. With 29 licensed beds and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, the hospital serves as the primary healthcare resource for Sevier County.
