Job description

Through advanced execution and pricing technologies, we improve how financial markets operate.
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically adept individual to join our expanding operations team in the United States. Beginning with hands-on, in-depth training provided by the global operations team, you will quickly assume a key role as the primary contact for all operational activities supporting the rapidly growing US trading desks. Covering an ever-expanding product base, you'll play a critical role in building and optimizing robust operational processes, ensuring data integrity across all trade, position, and cash management activities.
Maven's Operations team thrives on proactive collaboration, strong financial and technical expertise, and the innovative use of technology. You will be empowered to leverage automation, advanced data analytics, and the latest operational tools to enhance efficiency, drive process improvements, and support business growth. Working cross-functionally, you will build trusted relationships across the business, positioning yourself as a subject matter expert across multiple disciplines.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
  • Monitoring of US trading activity and responding to trader inquiries including booking trades, position organisation and drop copy/FIX messaging monitoring
  • Daily monitoring and resolution of trade breaks and fails with prime brokers, clearers, and counterparties
  • Daily monitoring and processing of trade lifecycle and corporate action activity in line with trading desk decisions and prime broker elections
  • Reconciliation of all trade & cash activity, PnL, positions, and cash balances across all relevant portfolios and accounts
  • Work closely with line manager, managing duties and tasks set in a proactive organised manner
  • Monitor group email inbox in relation to resolving breaks, settlement activity, fails, buy-ins etc as necessary
  • Assist London & Hong Kong Operations teams as needed during US hours
  • Perform BAU duties to a high standard and provide assistance in team projects

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS
  • BA in business/accounting/finance or related discipline
  • 2-5 years operational experience gained at a market making or proprietary trading firm
  • Ability to respond in an accurate manner to queries from front office and other Business Support Teams
  • Experience working in a high-pressure & high-volume environment with ability to deliver results in time sensitive situations
  • Knowledge of equity and listed derivative instruments including lifecycle events such as corporate actions and exercise / assignments, respectively
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of VBA/Python/SQL is advantageous
