Position Description: 

Provides technical leadership and hands-on support for enterprise telephony and unified communications services across the organization. Responsible for design, implementation, maintenance, and operational stability of VoIP infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment. Serves as a subject matter expert for Cisco collaboration technologies, SIP trunking, session border controllers, disaster recovery planning, security, and telephony-related projects, while supporting high availability, compliance, and continuous improvement of voice services.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of enterprise VoIP infrastructure.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, and Emergency Responder platforms.
  • Configure and support SIP trunking and session border controller solutions including Cisco CUBE.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and network security implementation for voice services.
  • Monitor performance, respond to vulnerabilities, and resolve operational incidents affecting telephony and unified communications services.
  • Participate as subject matter expert in complex projects including solution design, risk assessment, and cross-team coordination.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and internal training materials.
  • Provide second-tier escalation support and mentor peer technical staff.
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements and process optimization initiatives.
  • Support internal staff and multiple business locations to ensure voice services remain highly available, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, and Emergency Responder version 12.x or higher.
  • Advanced knowledge of dial plans, route patterns, and call routing design.
  • Experience troubleshooting SIP and SCCP phone registration, including SRST.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting inbound and outbound dial peers using Cisco CUBE.
  • Voice gateway and multi-site deployment experience.
  • Quality of Service design and implementation experience for voice traffic.
  • Experience with SIP trunk activation and support across multiple carriers.
  • Knowledge of Cisco routing, access-layer switching, and enterprise network integration.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a 24x7x365 enterprise environment with high autonomy and technical judgment.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience with SD-WAN impact on VoIP and SIP traffic.
  • Experience administering Cisco Meraki wireless environments and familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine.
  • Experience with third-party Cisco UC tools such as Kurmi or Variphy and diagnostics tools such as Cisco RTMT.
  • Experience with Cisco Expressway, hybrid calling, Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, or Microsoft Teams Phone.
  • Automation experience using Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
  • Exposure to compliance requirements such as HIPAA, SOX, or PCI.
  • Experience with non-Cisco session border controller platforms such as Ribbon or AudioCodes.
