Description Do you enjoy working with children of all ages and want a full-time job that is gratifying and allows you to be a positive influence in the local community. If so, the Department of Public Transportation's School Bus Aide position may be the right career for you. The School Bus Aide is a full-time position with benefits and a preferred hiring rate of $17.92 per hour

The ideal candidate for this position will be available when Harrisonburg City Public Schools are in session to help ensure that local students arrive at school, field trips, and athletics events in a safe manner. As a School Bus Aide, you'll assist: The school bus driver in maintaining discipline; Students boarding and leaving the school bus; Students with special transportation needs, such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, and more; With the security of students on the bus while observing the special needs of passengers; With cleaning and maintaining the inside of the school bus. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and some experience in working with children, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
