Job description

Lemon Aide Society empowers girls to lead by mentoring them as they plan and execute service projects in our community. We are looking for women willing to be the leaders and mentors for our Lemon Aides.

Adult Mentors are female leaders who have experience working with girls. They embody the Lemon Aide Society’s core beliefs and recognize that their influence can change the trajectory of a girl's life. Adult Mentors focus on relationship building - offering guidance and support as our Lemon Aides and Teen Mentors learn about themselves, their community, and how they can make a difference in the world. Adult mentors will lead a group in our monthly program, and the time commitment is approximately 5 hours a month throughout the school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship to Lemon Aides and Teen Mentors
  • Attend monthly group meetings and assist girls in implementing the Lemon Aide Society’s leadership and social justice curriculum
  • Facilitate leadership training sessions and guide project leaders through the stages of project development and evaluation

Commitment Details:

  • Adult Mentors lead a group of girls in a monthly meeting (in person) as well as prepare girls to lead the service project each month (typically on Zoom). Depending on the age of the group, expected volunteer time is approximately 5 hours/month. All supplies and curriculum provided.
  • Meetings are held once a month on a weekend day. Approximately 2 hours.
  • Mentoring session are held at your convenience (and the girls' availability) primarily on zoom. These are usually weekday evenings or weekends. Sessions are typically about 45 minutes.
