Service Department Adviser (Service Writer/Advisor) — Cascade Moto Portland

At Cascade Moto Portland, motorcycles aren't just what we sell—they're what we live. We're looking for an experienced Service Writer / Advisor to help deliver an outstanding ownership experience for our customers while keeping our busy service department organized, productive, and customer-focused.

This is not an entry-level counter position. We are looking for someone with real-world service department experience, strong metric motorcycle knowledge, and the ability to keep a shop running efficiently without unnecessary drama or excuses.

What You’ll DoService Operations
  • Help maintain a smooth, organized, and efficient service department
  • Write clear, accurate repair orders and document customer concerns properly
  • Estimate costs and completion times while setting realistic expectations
  • Schedule service work and manage technician workflow based on skill level and shop capacity
  • Monitor work-in-progress to ensure quality, timeliness, and communication
  • Coordinate with technicians, parts staff, and customers throughout the repair process
  • Create estimates for internal, customer-pay, and wreck repairs
  • Open and close customer-pay, warranty, and internal repair orders
  • Follow OEM warranty procedures and maintain proper documentation
  • Support parts coordination by verifying correct part numbers and helping ensure jobs are ready before service begins
  • Operate efficiently in Dealer DMS, CRM, and OEM systems
Customer Service
  • Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism and confidence
  • Greet customers promptly and communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and through email/text
  • Keep customers informed throughout the repair process—even when there are delays or no major updates
  • Handle complaints and difficult situations with a calm, solutions-focused attitude
  • Recommend maintenance and additional services when appropriate
  • Pay close attention to repeat repairs and help ensure issues are fully resolved
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous motorcycle or powersports service writing/advising experience
  • Strong knowledge of Triumph, BMW, & modern metric motorcycles
  • Experience scheduling work and managing technician workflow
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, direct, no-BS attitude with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable balancing customer satisfaction with shop efficiency and profitability
  • Current motorcycle endorsement required
