Job description

Service Writer Overview
WCTractor is an established equipment dealership with 15 locations throughout Central and East Texas. When you join WCTractor, you will work alongside leaders who set the standards responsible for our reputation as an industry leader.
Service Writer Responsibilities
As a Service Writer with WCTractor, you will act as the liaison between our service department and our customers. Ideal candidates will possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities include, butare not limited to:
  • Develop strong customer relationships through the successful management of service delivery
  • Develop cost estimates, logging needed parts and time needed for repairs and scheduling for the most appropriate Service Technician
  • Convey all necessary information regarding costs, parts, work and Technicians to the customers and management
  • Communicate with customers to discuss their requirements and relay those requirements to Service Technicians
  • Maintain customer and equipment records
  • Check warranties and insurance
  • Monitor customer records and maintain status updates to relay to customer and service as well as check for regular scheduled servicing and future remedial work and calling the customer to arrange appointments
Service Writer Qualifications
Minimum requirements for the service writer position include:
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Previous related work experience and product knowledge preferred
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of basic software applications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong record keeping skills
  • Ability to understand and relate technical issues to the service team from customers' non-technical descriptions
