Our client is a trusted distributor and solutions provider in the piping and industrial products industry, recognized for delivering reliable products, innovative solutions, and exceptional customer service across the energy, utilities, and infrastructure markets. They are seeking a Service Writer / Inside Sales Coordinator to join their team in the Houston, TX area.
Successful candidates must pass a background check, MVR, physical, and drug screening as a requirement for this position.
Job Summary
This key customer-facing role is responsible for supporting daily sales, service, and operational activities by providing prompt, professional, and knowledgeable support to both external and internal customers. The position is primarily office-based but will require occasional coordination with warehouse personnel to manage materials, fittings, and parts distribution.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and can effectively multitask while building strong customer relationships. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product inquiries, processing orders and invoices, coordinating service tickets, managing inventory records, and supporting inside sales activities. The Service Writer will work closely with technicians, warehouse staff, and branch teams to ensure operations are completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of customer satisfaction. Bilingual Spanish is a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with locating pipe parts, fittings, and materials
  • Manage and track inventory levels to ensure product availability
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and customer transactions accurately
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in service writing, inside sales, customer service, or industrial supply preferred
  • Experience in pipe, industrial, construction, plumbing, oil & gas, or related industries is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Comfortable working both in the office and occasionally in the warehouse environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a major plus
  • Proficient with invoicing systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office
