Job Summary

As a Technology Service Technician at Patterson Dental, you will have to perform repairs, installations and maintenance of digital radiology, CAD/CAM and computer equipment on the road or at the office. You will also troubleshoot software problems on Windows-based PCs in dental clinics.

Essential Functions
  • Independently respond to customer calls assigned to him, determine the nature of the problem for a particular module or component.
  • Determine the parts, supplies and tools needed to complete the service request.
  • Repairs equipment to meet manufacturer's specs. Performs standard system installations and tests functionality of components. Follows specific manufacturer, federal/provincial guidelines for repairs.
  • Ensure that the standard response time established with the service coordinator is respected.
  • Load, deliver, install, configure and train customers on the basic use and maintenance of the equipment sold.
  • Provides technical support after initial installation of equipment (software & hardware).
  • Use, maintain and secure test equipment and tools used to adjust, calibrate and repair equipment.
  • Complete all required documentation (time sheets, service orders, Radiation Protection Bureau forms, inventory and expense reports).
  • Return defective modules, assemblies or parts to head office and identify items.
  • Manages vehicle inventory and re-stocks as necessary.
  • Ensures proper vehicle maintenance guidelines and safe driving habits are followed.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technical and practical knowledge in the field of technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Diploma in Electronics and/or Computer Science.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record.
  • Excellent organizational skills and good problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated worker with great team spirit and manual skills.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in TCP/IP networking.
  • Exceptional applications skills with MS Office.
  • 2 to 3 years of field repair work experience in the dental or medical environment.
  • Experience related to carpentry, electricity or electronics required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
